In recent years, the North district has become one of the most bustling areas of the Brussels Capital region, and it has seen an increase in major developments. Major public authorities and corporate tenants quickly understood the unique appeal of this district, not in the least because of the exceptional mobility solutions within walking distance. NØR aims to offer its tenants and the surrounding neighbourhood a lively working space, open and transparent to the exterior, warm and flexible on the inside.

The renowned Brussels Architectural Firm DDS+ underlined NØR’s vision to embrace the city by pulling up both corners of the existing building. Both corner openings will host a welcoming lobby in combination with hospitality services. The facades stand out between the linearity of most other buildings. The architecture of NØR breaks the monotony of rigid corporate architecture and attracts the attention of pedestrians and people driving by.

The architects created large terraces on several floors with excellent east and west orientation, offering a great view of the changing skyline of Brussels. Again, these types of openings are rarely seen in this area and truly make the building stand out.

Since Networks believes in the future of the bicycle, special attention has been paid to the design of a state-ot-the-art bicycle access road and bicycle garage facilities for 72 bikes, equipped with shower facilities and electric car charging stations. There is also a ‘Villo!’ bicycle station nearby.

No less than three underground levels offer ample parking space for 131 automobiles of which 10 are equipped with a charging station. This is a great benefit in view of the lack of parking spaces available on street level.

Why Networks NØR?

Tailor-made interiors

We made sure to offer a wide variety of possible fittings for each office space: raised floors, climate ceiling systems, terraces and facilities for the disabled, lifts and a goods lift, high-quality finishes for the entrance hall and bathroom. You name it, we have thought of it. 

Versatile

NØR is an extremely versatile building of almost 13,750 m², which can host smaller organisations in office spaces starting from 800 m² to large tenants looking for larger spaces. For a larger organisation, the architecture of NØR even allows us to divide the project into two separate office spaces, one measuring 8,650 m² and another measuring 5,100 m². In that case, both organisations would benefit from separate access and great visibility. 

Human centricity

Human beings lie at the core of our philosophy as developers. A great deal of effort has been put into transforming this building, while paying special attention to the wellbeing of the people who work at NØR or visit the premises. All aspects related to the human experience, from bike access to work comfort, have been central to our vision. 

Connectivity

The two-storey lobby creates a luminous and inviting space for people to connect, have lunch, discuss business over a fine cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
Another conceptual advantage of NØR is that it combines many semi-public functions. A feng shui garden designed by Wirtz at the centre of the patio creates a serene atmosphere.

Sustainability

Next to the well-being of the tenants, a human-centric office development needs to attach great importance to sustainability. NETWORKS NØR has been designed to obtain a BREEAM Outstanding certification. In compliance with Brussels authorities, NETWORKS NØR is a passive office building thanks to an efficient building management system, water recollection and solar panels.
